Happy holidays! Please note these special dates on your calendar: On Monday, December 17th our entire school will go to Hale Makua to spread light and cheer during this time of year. The more the merrier, so if you would like to join us, please let your child’s teacher know so we can reserve room on the bus. On Tuesday, December 18th, Susan Moulton, the founder of the Will Smith Foundation, will be visiting our campus to meet our kiddos. She is the generous donor who funded our playground and this year she is funding our music classes. If you are inclined to send in a lei or a handmade card, it would be appreciated. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank our amazing and dedicated Board of Directors! Over the last five years, we have been able to purchase our building, paint the exterior, receive grants for curriculum, secure funds to start Phase I of our capital campaign, and build a new playground. Our Board is always looking at the bigger picture and working behind the scenes to secure top notch support for all our staff. And speaking of the big picture, as you know, we received our initial accreditation in July 2017 and are currently working toward full accreditation. In the next few years we hope that all the behind the scenes work will continue to be reflected in your child’s daily experience. Our classrooms are supported now more than ever with full-time assistants in three of our classrooms, new science equipment for our middle school, and an array of enrichment teachers for our K-8 students (Japanese, Art, PE, Drama). Teachers continue to be supported in creating and procuring innovative curriculum for our students. Thank you to our Board members, our entire community, and to you for continuing to move our school forward!
